IPCI is an authorized provider of Continuing Education by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification. AASECT CEs are also authorized by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (PLA) to provide CEs for both the behavioral health and psychology boards. Completion of these programs does not ensure or guarantee AASECT certification.

Program Description: Sexual concerns are common in clients across the lifespan, yet mental health professionals have little training in how to comfortably and competently address sex in a clinical setting. Join Dr. Maria Hanzlik, Clinical Psychologist and AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, in learning more about how to better assess and treat sexual issues in individuals and couples. This workshop also allows an opportunity for busy mental health providers to network, share resources, and connect with providers engaging in similar clinical work.

Program Description: Sensate Focus has its roots in behaviorism, but as research has evolved, the literature points to how working systemically and incorporating mindfulness-based strategies can reduce sexual difficulties, and improve sexual response and improve sexual satisfaction. This workshop will address the development of sensate focus, how change occurs, when to use this approach, and how to apply the phases of this therapy intervention for the purposes of increasing sexual frequency & satisfaction, reducing of symptoms of sexual dysfunction, and improve overall relationship satisfaction for couples. The training incorporates didactic information, demonstration, and experiential, applied practice.
